The Goddess

Sculpted Goddesses

Dreaming Goddess
Dreaming Goddess
Found in a sacred healing temple on the island of Malta, the dreaming goddess is approximately 6,000 years old. She represents a powerful shaman who enters the dream world to obtain knowledge. The dreaming goddess sleeps in the pose recommended for Tibetan dream yoga. An original Goddess sculpture by Archeomyth, available only at WonderWorks. $23.95 (mini version).

Willendorf Goddess

Willendorf Goddess
The Willendorf Goddess, originally carved in limestone and unearthed near Willendorf, Austria, is approximately 30,000 years old. She is the oldest sculpture of a human form yet uncovered. The primordial Mother Goddess represents the abundance, bulk and stability of Earth.

Cycladic Goddess

Cycladic Goddess
One of the many female figures,
originally made of marble, found in graves and ritual sites on the Cyclades Islands off Greece.
These Goddesses represent the death and
rebirth aspect of the Goddess, and are often depicted in meditation or a trance-like state. Cycladic goddesses have no facial features, implying an altered state of consciousness.

Goddess of Laussel

Goddess of Laussel
Carved in limestone over the entrance to a cave that was both a dwelling place and a ceremonial site, she was painted red, the colour of life, blood and rebirth. With her left hand, she points to her belly, and in her right hand she holds a horned crescent marked with thirteen lines, the number of moon cycles in a solar year.
From Europe, c. 20,000 BC. $28.95
