Matronalia and the Rising Sun

Matronalia and the Rising Sun

In ancient Rome, March 1st was celebrated as Matronalia.

On this day, women wore their hair loose & brought infant children to temples at dawn to greet the sun. When they returned, their husbands offered them prayers.

It's been very grey and dreary in Toronto lately; if you can, rise early tomorrow and greet the dawn. Wear your hair loose, breathe deeply, and remember that spring freshness is just around the corner.
