(truth)seer is a dreamlike experiment in story telling that plays with time and narrative with the use of audio design and symbolism. The work conceptually examines the ways in which time distorts as individual consciousness mutates.

I am here,
(she) whispers in my ear
as the rocks turn over
hear, hear

Transplanted into the gallery through a mixed media installation I am here, is a series of ruminations from the trail. The video component situates us in the landscape through a single continuous shot. The journey to the lookout is marked through a memory map comprised of found and created objects; flotsam and jetsam snaked together like the ever-changing trail. An ode to the natural abundance of a vast landscape that is rugged yet gentle, solid while crumbling on a colossal scale and at a universal snail’s pace. Here is a safe haven away from the swelling oceans, a land that sustains us with her essential twin, fresh water. It was here, along the trails of the Bruce Peninsula that my slow naturalization as a Canadian began, climbing the ancient rocks always leading me to water.

Wonderworks is excited to be participating in this year's Scotiabank Nuit Blanche as an independent project, with artist Robin Pacific!

A Black Tie Affair is evocative, mysterious, and contemplative. Re-sacralizing art, creating a space for a sense of worshipfulness, is an important strain in contemporary art, engendered by feminist and community art practices. This project situates itself in this ancient and contemporary tradition.

The installation engages Nuit Blanche participants by inviting them into the space where they are encouraged to be silent, to meditate and reflect. Opera singers and musicians perform throughout the night. Cascading from the ceiling and draping on to the floor is a large curtain of 300 neck ties, sewn together and painted black. On the floor, and resting on the black textiles, are eighteen gold leafed ceramic bowls filled with red liquid.
